DIY Christmas Cards
About 150 years ago, Jenn and I were in a card club. Each person would make 12 identical cards, we’d pick a theme, meet once a month and exchange the cards. Everyone would go home with 12 different cards for whatever the theme was. It was truly safe to say that I was the worst at card making. I’d always have the grandest of intentions, unfortunately my skill level didn’t match.
It was definitely a learning experience for me. I learned a lot about what card making techniques I was good at, and what I wasn’t. At that time I didn’t have a Cricut, so everything I did I had to cut out by hand. I know…completely bonkers. I was so excited to get to use my Cricut Maker to make my Christmas cards this year.
Personalized Christmas Cards
While creating these cards, I wanted to do a few different ones that I could send out. Using a variety of paper made it easy to have them look unique, but coordinating. I wanted them to have some holiday sparkle, so naturally I had to use some glitter cardstock. Also, the Cricut Deluxe Paper Foil Embossed Sampler is so beautiful, I had to use it too! The best part is the Maker does almost all the work. You have to put a few simple parts together and there you have it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Merry Christmas Star Card
To make this card, here’s what you need:
Holly foil embossed kraft paper
Pearl Paper in Sunshine
Glitter Cardstock in Red
Glitter Cardstock in Green
Cricut Pen in Black
Thin ribbon in Red
Adhesive of your choice
(I prefer Tombow permanent adhesive or Art Glitter Glue)
Using this cut file in Design Space, cut out all your pieces. Fold your card, cut a small square of red and green glitter cardstock and attach to the back of the pearl paper. Next tie two small bows with the red ribbon and use adhesive to attach those and the ribbons to the front of the pearl paper above the stars. Then add adhesive to the back of the pearl paper, center on your folded card and attach. Super easy and really cute!
Glitter Tree Card
What you need:
Using this cut file in Design Space, cut out your pieces. Fold your green card, attach the white cardstock in the center of your card. Place white glitter cardstock just above “Happy Holidays”. After that, layer the green glitter cardstock tree behind the silver glitter cardstock. I love how beautiful and glittery this one is, it might be my favorite!
Red and Green Merry Christmas Card
What you need:
Use Design Space and this cut file to cut out your pieces out. Layer your green glitter pieces on either side of your card. Next attach the red leather piece in the center. After that, attach your pearl paper in the center of your leather piece, and your done!
