I don’t know about your family, but when we see a movie we love in the theater my kids have the hardest time waiting for it to come out on DVD so they can watch it again. So when they are looking forward to watching a movie again, we make a big deal out of Family Movie Night. We are SO excited because the LEGO Batman Movie is being released digitally on iTunes and Amazon THIS Friday, May 19th, 2017.
To celebrate, I decided it would be fun to pretend we are at the movies and set up a movie snack bar for the kids to grab their treats while we watch the movie. I made a cute banner and used some of my kids LEGO toys and books as decoration! One of my favorite things about LEGO is that they have so many things to keep kids engaged and keep their imaginations going. Having books and LEGO sets that go along with their movies let kids bring the movies to life in their homes.
This banner was super easy to make, I just used my Cricut to cut out the banner flags and the letters. Then I used yellow paper to put behind the letters. You can also get a chalk board banner set at Walmart for just a few dollars.
I made these popcorn cones out of cardstock. Just fold the cardstock over and secure with tape. You can make them as large or as small as you like. I made mine a little bigger to keep from having to do refills every five minutes! In addition to having water cups out, we also had some of our favorite sport drinks. I used The LEGO Batman Movie logo to make fun bottle wrappers. You can download a sheet of four of them here. It should fit the smaller size sport bottles and regular size water bottles.
I put out some of our favorite movie treats, along with some healthier options. My kids almost always pick fruits and veggies over candy, so I thought it couldn’t hurt to have a little of both.
I also created this fun LEGO Batman Movie bingo card. We use LEGO pieces and play blackout. The first person to get blackout wins. The kids stay pretty quiet because they don’t want anyone else to know if they saw a character that others might not have! Download the card here.
LEGO sent us some fun LEGO Batman Movie play sets, along with the cool Batman and Robin alarm clocks. The sets are for a wide variety of ages, so all of your family can get in on the fun! We also loved the books they sent! Even my oldest who is 14 loves reading the books. They also made cute decorations for our snack table!
