Can you believe Christmas is just a few days away and whether you’re ready or not it’s coming. I know there is always that one person on your shopping list that you need to buy for and you leave it until the last minute hoping to find that perfect gift for them, later realizing you are running out of time and at the very last minute you end up buying something that you may not really love just to be done. I think this nativity sign is one of those perfect gifts to give. It was also a fun project to make using my Cricut and once I figured out how I wanted everything laid out it came together pretty quickly.
To make this project you will need the following supplies.
A piece of wood ( mine measured 15 inches long by 10.5 inches wide)
White acrylic paint
Cricut vinyl (black)
Cricut vinyl (gold)
Cricut vinyl (metallic silver)
You can find the Nativity and Star I used here, I forgot to save my full set up but these are what I used.
Step 1. Once you have the piece of wood you will be using. Paint your wood and while it’s drying cut out your images out in Design Space.
Step 2: Sand edges with a small hand sander if you want that more distressed look.
Step 3: After your paint is dry place where you want your vinyl images to lay on your wood. You can use a scraper or credit card to make sure your vinyl is laying down nicely.
And that’s it! I told you it was easy and I love how it turned out. I’m going with more soft and neutral/natural colors this year with my Christmas decor in my front room and these vinyl colors blend in perfectly. They are beautiful and I love that it is one of the first things I see when I walk into the room. I’ve been wanting to make a Christmas Nativity sign for a while and I’m glad I sat down and finally made it. I really think this would be such a great and meaningful gift and there is still plenty of time to whip up this cute nativity sign before Christmas! Who needs sleep right??
And now I’m trying to decide which wreath I like better on my window?
Happy Holidays and Happy Crafting!
