You’ve got to try this Strawberry Frosted Lemonade recipe!
I have to admit with being pregnant this summer I have fully enjoyed the comforts of my air-conditioned home. When I do spend time outside with the kids I find myself craving anything fruity and cold to drink. Let’s just say I’ve been on many Slurpee runs with my kids and they have been pretty happy about this. I’ve seen different recipes for frosted lemonades around and they always sound so refreshing. I’ve been in the mood to try something different than slurpees and snow cones and this fit the bill! My kids had some friends over the other day and they were all hot and tired so we decided it would be fun to whip up this sweet frosty treat and all the kids were in heaven.
Strawberry Frosted Lemonade
1 qt. Vanilla Ice cream ( I used 2 of the 16 oz. size ice cream and they worked great.)
8 oz. frozen sweetened strawberries
1 can of Pink Lemonade Concentrate (mostly thawed, add to taste)Mix all ingredients together in a blender or mixer.
I put everything in my kitchen aide mixer using the thicker hook and it worked great.
You’ll want the ice cream to be soft and the strawberries to be mostly thawed but still a little icy and frozen.
You won’t need the whole can of pink lemonade concentrate, it’s quite strong so start with a little bit and add it as you go until you get the flavor you like. I like mine a bit tart but I know not everyone does.
I poured the lemonade in fancy glasses and the kids were so excited they gobbled it down! I loved the smooth consistency and that it’s a little bit of tart and a little bit of sweet. It was the perfect combo and is so refreshing on a hot summer day. If you are looking for a fun cold refreshing treat to make for your kids (or who am I kidding yourself) this summer you need to try this strawberry frosted lemonade!
