I am always looking for new Christmas decorations (much to Nate’s dismay). This year I knew I wanted some pillows for my couch and these were so incredibly easy to make.
I’m so excited about how cute these pillows turned out! I picked the black pillows up at Wal-Mart of all places for the bargain price of $5 each. The stripe pillow covers are from Ikea and are only $5 each as well.
To make these pillows I broke out the Cricut Explore for the 1st time (so much fun and so much easier than I was expecting!) I used some amazing Heat Transfer Vinyl from Daily Craft Vinyl. I used Tomato Red for the Joy, Golden Nugget for the reindeer, and Ruby Slipper for the reindeer nose.
If you want to use these same designs the reindeer came from the Winter Wonderland cartridge and is the Elegant Christmas Reindeer (ungrouped and just one layer). The nose is just a tiny .19″ circle. For the Joy pillow I used a font from my computer. It is a script font (I can’t remember which one…sorry). Did you know you can use all of the fonts from your computer with the Circut Explore. It’s awesome.
Once I decided on what images I wanted on my pillows (I love that I can design everything without being hooked up to the Cricut) they took about 5 minutes to make from start to finish. It was fabulous. The kids were so excited when they got home. Morgan especially loves the reindeer. The one problem with these and how easy they were to make is that I want to make like 20!
Make sure you check out Daily Craft Vinyl when you’re ready to make some cute pillows, they have a great assortment of Heat Transfer Vinyl (I love the glitter ones!!).
Have a great day!!
