I was incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to spend a week at Fitness Ridge in Ivins, Utah. If you aren’t aware of what Fitness Ridge is and what they do, this post will give you a little run down. Fitness Ridge is an all inclusive fitness resort. They have additional personal classes, weekend excursions and spa services at an additional cost…but man are they worth it! The “dorms” that you stay in are beautiful, comfortable rooms with all the amenities of a super nice hotel. They are really spacious and the beds are so nice to fall asleep in after one of your amazing, intense days!
Once you get settled into your room, you do your beginning fitness summary and then get to hang out until dinner. Now the meals are not to be missed at Fitness Ridge…they are amazing! I’ll give you a little peek here, but I’ll be doing a whole other post on just the deliciousness of the food!
This was my first meal, “Fried” Chicken and Roasted Veggies with Honey Mustard. For dessert we had banana with dark chocolate. It was perfect!
The facilities at Fitness Ridge are awesome! There is a gorgeous outdoor pool, with a beautiful outdoor lounge area. They have a wet sauna and a dry sauna and a hot tub! They also have coin operated washers and dryers so that you don’t have to pack everything you own. 🙂 The dining room, lecture hall, and rec room are all beautiful outfitted and make you feel like you are at home. They have every piece of workout equipment I’ve ever heard of (and lots that I’d never heard of!) in the gym, court, and aerobics room. They keep you on your toes with several different classes: Cardio Intervals, Circuit Training, Kickboxing, Zumba, Bootcamp, Cardio Moves, 80’s Step Aerobics, H20, and a bunch more! My favorite was ending the day with the Stretch class. It was so great to learn deep stretches to help your body recover from everything you’ve done all day. It was great!
A typical Summer Schedule day at Fitness Ridge starts with an early morning hike, followed by breakfast, a lecture, workout, lunch, lecture, more workouts and then dinner. They keep you pretty busy and the first couple of days you start to think that you’ll never be able to keep up…but trust me, you’ll make it and even start to feel stronger! (You can also visit their website here, to get a day at Fitness Ridge overview!)
I have to say that my favorite thing was the lectures…and not just because I could rest my weary legs! They have the most amazing dietitians, nutritionists, trainers, life coaches, and motivational speakers around. You come out of each lecture with so much knowledge and feels so inspired that you can’t wait to put that information to use! These people don’t want to just help you lose a little bit of weight while you’re there. They want to help you learn what triggers you to overeat, gain weight, and/or give up. At Fitness Ridge, when you leave they want to make sure that you have all the tools you need to continue on your journey. The inspiration and motivation that the Fitness Ridge employees help you gain is priceless.
I also loved getting to meet so many different people from all over the world! It was so great to hear their stories, learn about their lives and what brought them to Fitness Ridge. Everyone is really supportive of each other, and you really need it when you are on the last 1/4 mile of a 5 mile hike!
So overall, it was one of the hardest and best experiences I’ve ever had! You are constantly surrounded by wonderful people and beautiful scenery. You learn more than you could possibly imagine and it inspires you to want to keep going and do your best every day. I would recommend Fitness Ridge to anyone! And if you happen to book…make sure you mention my name! 🙂 If you want more information, make sure you check out their website at www.fitnessridge.com. Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest too!
