My Recipe Magic Launch Party - an evening with the Six Sisters

We Housewives have been longtime followers of the blog Six Sisters' Stuff.  They have a darling blog with a lot of wonderful recipes, crafts, and just fun.

This year they are holding a blog conference here close to home and it didn't take long for Paula and I to decide that we needed to go.  We're excited about that coming up next month and know we'll learn lots of wonderful things to share with all of our wonderful readers.

We were invited last week to come to a little Girl's Night Out they were holding to launch their new website My Recipe Magic.  We're feeling very lucky that they are close-by so we were able to go.

The new site is amazing.  We've got some recipes on it and look forward to sharing more and more there.  Meeting some of the Sisters was awesome.  They're very sweet and friendly as is their family who were there and I'll just say here (I'm sure they know) how lucky they are to have such a supportive group around them.  We got to meet their parents and they are both so nice.

Sadly we walked in the door for the evening and realized we hadn't brought a good camera :(  So you get cell phone camera pictures (sorry about that).

We started out the evening with all you can eat crepes.  We were pretty impressed with the guy making them.  He was doing an awesome job keeping the line moving.

Here we all are with our yummy food.

We got to meet some other local bloggers who sat at our table.  It was fun to visit and get to know new people.

Say hello to Amber from Dessert Now, Dinner Later
and to Alexis from We Like to Learn as We Go

They are both very nice and have adorable blogs.  I hope you'll go check them out and say Hi from over here.

OK, so while all of that up there was fun and great I did have a little bit more of a highlight from the evening.  You see...there were prizes!

The 1st place prize was a blendtec blender (love) and then there was a 2nd place prize of a ticket to the build your blog conference and 2 - 3rd place prizes that were Riley Blake material.  I was secretly excited (OK maybe not so secretly) about the fabric.  I love Riley Blake...who doesn't right?  Anyway, the little teases gave away the 1st 2 prizes and I didn't win and so they got to the Riley Blake and dead seriously they called out "Jennnnnnnn" and then whatever the other person's last name was.  I was TOTALLY bummed because for a long second I totally thought it was me.

So then they started on prizes that some of the shops at Gardner Village had brought by.  I hadn't looked much at everything on the table.  It was all really cute but not a "Grand Prize" if you will.

They called out a couple prizes and I didn't win and then Camille picked up one and said it was what she wanted to win.  It was from the sassy babies boutique there and it was THIS:

Jealous yet?  This gorgeous little One Hundred and Sixty Dollar Cake by Petunia pocketbook.  Yep, they stood up there and told us this prize had a tag hanging from it for $160!!!  So this time when they called out "JENN" you can bet I was more than a little bit excited and then they followed it up with my last name and my night got even better!  I was crushed a little when Paula said "too bad you don't have $160 to put in your $160 wallet" so now that's step 2.  I can almost guarantee I'd never spend that much on a wallet for myself so I am pretty excited that I won it and totally feel like I won a Grand Prize!

Paula also won a prize.  I can't remember the name of the shop it came from but it is a gorgeous little doily and a copy of a magazine (that I can't remember the name of...I'm counting on her to come and add to this post).  We were pretty lucky at our table.

They also had a photo booth.  As a group apparently we don't know how to use a photo booth.  I will work on scanning having Paula scan in the photos so you can laugh with us, because we're doing a lot of laughing at ourselves.

It was a great night and now I'm even more excited about the upcoming conference.  If you're in Utah you should totally come and then we could meet you too!!!

  1. Haha! It was fun meeting you ladies! I might be going to the BYB2013 conference...still talking to my hubby. So you all should have name tags at the bottom of your posts (like Six Sister's Stuff do), b/c then it is easier to know who is writing them. But I have a good idea of who wrote the Big Mac Post ;) Anyway, thanks for the shout out & maybe I will see you guys at the conference!

    1. We've been thinking about that. We really need to get on it, I think I'll put Paula in charge of it, she's better at those type of things than I am. Please let us know if you come. It would be fun to see you again!

    2. I'll admit it...the Big Mac Post was mine. LOL! :-) We'll have to see if we can figure out how to do the picture thing at the bottom. I wonder if there is a way to make it an automatic signature?

We definitely had a lucky table. I jealous you all are going to the blog conference! It's not in our budget this year, but maybe next year. Can't wait to read your posts!
