While I know I have never actually shared pictures of the boy’s finished bedroom I have moved on. The boy’s room is really close to being done but I’ve delayed posting the finished pictures because it’s not done yet. There are still a few things that need to be finished but they’re not things I can do. I can’t put up shelves and a rod in the closet and I can’t hang a closet door. There is one more project that I can do but I’m waiting on ordering a part I need for it until that closet gets done. I want the moment I put that project in there to be able to take the “finished” pictures and wash my hands of that room for a while.
So, now I’ve moved on to the girl’s rooms. We’re doing some changing of bedrooms which has brought those rooms back to the front burner. I’ve got 2 rooms I need to get done. 1 room for 1 12 year old girl and a 2nd room for 2 girls ages 10 and 8. I want both rooms to be girly and they both need to be able to have a 12, 10 or 8 year old living in them. The deal with the current room changes is that they all know they’ll each get a turn having a room to themselves.
Thankfully the all love pink, dance, and girly things so I don’t think I have too much to worry about there. They all also seem perfectly fine with me picking everything out. I know they’ll have their own touches they’ll want to put in the rooms and I’m a-ok with that.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time looking around at different ideas and I keep coming back to my life-long favorite color duo of light pink and grey. I remember being on the playground in the 3rd grade talking to my friends about our favorite colors. I know at that point my favorite actual color was turquoise but my favorite 2 colors together were light pink and grey. I’m pretty lucky that that combo is all the rage right now, makes doing what I want pretty easy.
I have found some inspiring pictures. None are exactly right for us but gosh they’re sure lovely to look at.
