We had a rather exciting and insanely busy 5th of December today. The older girls and I spent a good 5 hours at dress rehearsal for the big Nutcracker production. They’re so excited to participate again this year and even more excited to each be dancing in 2 dances.
If you’re in or around the Salt Lake Valley this weekend we’d love to see you come support the kids. They work so hard for this production and it is always so beautiful.
This year I’ve got the older 2 girls dancing Candy Cane and Snowflake and Little Red is performing as a Soldier and doing the Chinese dance both Friday evening and Saturday evening.
Here’s a cute picture of them at the end of the night when we were finally allowed to go home.
Such silly and fun girls!
Once we were done we headed off to one of our favorites Chick Fil A for dinner. The older 2 had gotten free meal certificates sent to them from their bank for their birthday so it was kind of a deal. It was nice to have some girly time and to visit and hear about what they’re doing at school and what they’re looking forward to this Christmas season.
We stopped and picked up the littles and the oldest and thanks to Auntie Paula they had already started their activity for the night. They kids are all anticipating the arrival of St. Nicholas this evening. They’ve got their shoes and letters for Santa set out by the fire place and got a friendly reminder about being nice, obeying and of course sharing. They all seemed quite interested in hearing that the gifts St. Nicholas leaves are meant to be shared. They are excited to see what may be there in the morning.
Here they are after the final notes had been added to the shoes. Some of them along with their lists wrote letters with wishes of safety and a happy holiday. They’re such good little monsters.
(yes I’m aware we’re missing someone…she wasn’t feeling pictures later this evening).
So there you have it. Our day #5 in a little nutshell. They kids are having fun with something to look forward to in the evenings and I’m having fun spending more time focusing on these sweet little ones who make the holidays SO happy and special!

PS – there are times when my son’s complete inability to stay on task is so glaringly obviously from me it’s almost scary…I’m not alone right?
