As you may have noticed we’ve been a little Missing In Action. There is a good reason for that! Our darling GG turned 40 on Sunday and we wanted to make sure we partied it up right!
Friday evening we all met and we out to dinner as our 1st activity for the “Celebrate Gena” weekend. We went to Red Robin and ate way to much food! Paula and I decided since we were going to be out all night we needed to make sure GG was dressed for the occasion and so we found this cute little wand and crown and accessorized them with “Aged to Perfection” ribbons.
The crown worked and she got a free yummy dessert!
After dinner we decided to go and enjoy a little *eye candy* so after walking around a little bit and having fun at a couple cute shops we spent the rest of our evening with the adorable (and incredibly attractive) Zac Efron in his new movie Lucky One (which we all really really enjoyed and not just because Zach is a major hottie).
After the movie we searched and searched for a Lucky One poster to take a picture in front of but there was NOTHING at the whole theater so instead you just get pictures of us. (Yes my camera is propped up in a tree and yes I had to keep running to get into the pictures.)
On Saturday we got together with our husbands and went out to dinner at the Olive Garden to once again celebrate GG. We didn’t tell her we were all going to be there, she thought she was just going out with Theron so that was a little fun surprise. Dinner was yummy and I took no pictures…
Sunday was the big day! Paula, Lisa and I along with our husbands were working with Theron to throw a surprise party for Gena. We had everyone gather at Paula’s house and bring a TON of yummy food and then we waited a little bit for Gena to arrive. We knew once her kids got to the house it was ok to put in the call for a *need* so once they got there Paula called Gena in a little bit of a panic asking if she could borrow some oil (we figured we would need to ask for something we a. knew she would have and b. would understand was needed quickly). Thankfully she’s an awesome friend so they jumped in their car and headed right over. We had everyone hiding out in the backyard so once they got in the kitchen Paula told Theron something was wrong with the smoker and asked if he would look at it so she flung open both doors and we surprised the heck out of her!!!
We had so much fun celebrating Gena all weekend long and look forward to her year of celebrations (lucky girl gets to go to Ireland next month!!).
I didn’t get a ton of pictures but I did get some of everyone hanging out.
Lisa made GG these adorable cupcakes (can you see that the blue ones say 40?) and we lit all 40 of them.
GG did her best to get them all blown out in 1 breath.
GG’s showing off her incredibly awesome OVER the HILL pin we made her wear.
And one last picture showing off the beautiful cake Lisa made (really, you should wish you had a Lisa because her cakes are SO yummy along with being beautiful!).
Happy Birthday beautiful friend!
