Remember when I posted the before pictures of the nursery room, almost a month ago now? I’ve been working my butt off in there trying to get it exactly how I want it and thankfully I have wonderful friends who have helped me so much with things that I knew nothing about!
This is wall #1.
Isn’t it wonderful?
Lisa, Paula and Kristin all helped me get this set up exactly how I wanted it. I have been collecting frames, mirrors and other things for a long while now. I knew I wanted a collage wall and with the help of these lovely ladies it turned out even better than I had dreamed!
(just a little note because I am trying to keep track – all the frames and the mirror were purchased at the DI for $.50-$2.00 except the big center frame that was given to us as a gift. I at first was stressed about finding the perfect frames and then I realized if I liked the style of the frame it didn’t matter what color it was – I could ALWAYS paint it! The L I picked up at JoAnn’s for like $.50 and mod podged paper on it and tied ribbon on it to dress it up a little bit and then used a comand velcro strip to attach it to the glass on the frame)
Nate and I have been on a kick purging the kids stuffed animals, we have so many of them and they don’t do much except lay around and get walked on so I convinced the kids to donate their pink, white and black newer & of course cute stuffed animals to use in her bedroom. They are fun and have added to the sweetness of her room making it perfect for such a sweet little princess, I want her room to be for her, somewhere she can play and somewhere that reflects her personality and her age. I have high hopes that this room will grow with her for at least the next few years and continue to be a place she loves and is happy to be in.
If you’ve been following for long (or read back) you may remember that changing table from it’s before/after pictures back in early May. I love it. Of course it saved us a lot of money to be able to refinish it instead of having to go out and buy a new one. I am so glad that her room is finally ready for it to be in there. I was so excited when I got it all painted and ready and then with the insanity of the busy summer the house took a back seat and the cute *new* changing table wasn’t getting put in it’s “home”. The baskets Nate got quite a few of a couple years ago up at Brighton Ski Resort. They’re perfect for holding all her pink blankets, her toys and her diapers. They’re durable so she can’t wreck them and there are no sharp edges so that is a double plus. I lined the shelves with a kind of padded black shelf liner and it’s done a great job protecting the shelves from the metal of the baskets.
Do you see the little Princess over there playing in her crib? She is loving her made-over bedroom so much.
The color on her walls is called “Pink Air”. It is the most perfect pink color, no red or orange tones to it, not bubblegum or barbie pink, just really the most perfect soft pink.
My favorite part about the room…walking into it with her in my arms. She immediately starts smiling at the pictures of herself. She waves at the pictures of that beautiful little baby and just gets so excited. She has always loved pictures of herself and looking at herself in the mirror and this wall of pictures that I’ve taken of her throughout the first 10 months of her life are so her, my beautiful, spunky, fun little angel. I love that she loves her room and herself so much!
