I think that is what it should be called at least.
On Friday at approximately 5:00 I loaded the baby up into the car, picked up Lisa, Paula and Hudson and showed up at GG’s house to surprise her with a night with the girls. She thought she was going out with Theron so she was a little surprised when we arrived (Theron was a great accomplice and had her totally fooled). We loaded up San Francisco style and ran to the bank. We grabbed Paula’s money for her and then hit the nail salon for manis and pedis. Ang pulled up as soon as we did so we were all able to get in and started together. We all enjoyed our pampering. Some got pretty toes, we all got varying degrees of pretty nails, we watched Celine Deon’s concert and sang along and talked about how fun it would be to go see her in Vegas. We closed the salon down getting out of there right at about 7:30 and headed to dinner.
Johnny Carinos was our destination and somehow on a Friday night we were able to walk in and be seated immediately. We all enjoyed their yummy nachos and other foods. Our waiter was a bit of a downer but we didn’t let that stop our fun (it may have added to it if I’m being honest). We talked kids, husbands, weight, coupons and about everything else under the sun you can imagine. After we finished with dinner we ended up at our most common stop.
Wal-mart! Still not sure why it is that when we’re together we always end up there but we do. Tonight it was to see if we could find a copy of the movie “Up Close and Personal”. Shockingly GG and Lisa had both not seen it and I was determined to fix that asap! Sadly the mart let us down and didn’t have the movie in stock but they made up for it with super clearance valentine candy and jewelry cleaner everyone seemed to be needing. Because of their lack of movie we did something I haven’t done in years.
Went to blockbuster! It was incredibly weird to walk into a video rental store. I don’t remember the last time I did it but I’m happy to say that a. they had the movie. b. their price was great (.99 for 3 days) and c. they didn’t require anything but my drivers license to let me rent it.
As we headed back to the neighborhood we decided to stop by my house to grab my laptop and Ang made pretty much the funniest comment about butts that I am pretty sure has ever been made and then we ended up at P’s house to watch the movie.
I loved it as much as I did the first time and it was great to get to watch it with friends who cried right along with me instead of making fun of me for crying (ala Nate). By the time we were done with the movie it was around 1:30 and by the time I got everyone home and got in bed myself it was right about 2. Thankfully I fell right to sleep and had a great Saturday to look forward to.
I woke up at approximately 7:37 Saturday morning, jumped in a fast shower and got the baby and I dressed and headed out to pick up the crew. We stopped by McD’s on our way to the annual Stake Relief Society Conference. This year was sure to be uplifting and popular so we got there a little early to get a good seat.
This years 2 headlining speakers were Emily Freeman
